Review by hotel critic
I recently took my family to Paradise Island Resort, looking for a central spot to unwind after exploring the Gold Coast. Our room, 202B, gave us a peaceful escape with a balcony overlooking the pool and river - perfect for a morning coffee. The location was spot-on; just a five-minute walk to Cavill Avenue, allowing us to dive right into the local vibe while remaining tucked away from the noise. It was unfortunate that the room had a lingering smoke smell and the air conditioning didn't work properly. Despite this, we enjoyed the medium-sized lobby, which featured a tour desk where we got tips for local water adventures - my kids particularly loved trying their hand at bodyboarding! We also appreciated the family-friendly amenities and activities that encouraged us to bond while having fun. While there were a few hiccups, our stay was ultimately about making memories together in a welcoming setting. Paradise Island Resort offers a solid base for families seeking adventure on the Gold Coast.
